Installation Tips from talnlnky @ YarisWorld

"take a look at the fuse for the cigarette lighter for a clue as to if a 1 amp charging source is possible. If the fuse is 1 amp, you should be able to draw 1 amp from it for an hour or two without a problem. If the fuse is greater than 1 amp, you should be able to draw 1 amp from it with no problems at all.

You could always wire in your own fused circuit using 12awg wire, which would be good for say 20 amps if you wanted. You could then run any additional items off that in the future too. www.partsexpress.com has one right now for $2.50

then you just have to search through a compnay like www.digikey.com or www.mouser.com to find a surface mount female USB port."

In that case, I'd bet that the CD-Tape button is your Aux selector.

The part number should be ten digits. There are three radios for 06 LB's:
86120-52060
86120-52530
86120-52490

The first was made by Matsushita and is not AUX jack compatible. The other two were made by Fujitsu and are AUX capable.

----

D79 is what the connector label in the factory service manual

----

The 20 pin plug at the back of the radio has those wires in it.

Pin 15 should be red and the right audio in
Pin 16 should be the Black wire and its the common wire
Pin 17 should be green and the left audio in.

I'm not sure what the red wire in Pin 19 does. If I'm guessing, it detects whether something is plugged in and turns the AUX option on or off. But I'm not sure

OBDII Bluetooth for Android Phones

Here are some updated details on OBDII  port tools and software that will allow you to receive car diagnostic information on your Windows PC and Android phone.

I've found cheaper Bluetooth OBDII adapters at around $40 but this one is only $65 and looks to only be about an inch tall vs the cheaper versions that look to be about 4 inches tall.  The way that my OBDII port is located and angled I doubt that the bigger ones would fit and not be in the way when I'm getting in and out of my car, just something to keep in mind for others that are considering one of these systems.

So far it looks like Torque is the best software with the most features that is actually out.  I'll be ordering up my OBDII Bluetooth Module this week and will post up some more information on these products one I can get to testing them.

OBDII Bluetooth Module $64.99

Torque Android Application $3.99 or Free

Free w/ Ad's or about $4 for the paid non-ad version.

Yaris OEM Auxiliary Input (YarisWorld.com)

"The Sedan and Liftback use different Aux jacks. The part number above is correct for the Liftback (06-09). For some reason the LB one has a higher list price than the sedan one.

The Sedan one is: 86190-53010 (06-08) and 86190-48010 (09)."

ALO: Aux Left Output
ARO: Aux Right Output
AGND: Aux Ground
ASGN: Aux Signal Ground
AUXO: Aux Output (switched input to HU to indicate that cable is plugged into Aux jack)

AGND is the shield, where as ASGND is the audio signal ground. I think they added the shield to the 09's to fix the noise issue that some people complained of in prior years.
